Generous Living
When we talk about generous living at Real Life Christian Church, we are talking about people who are using their time, abilities and resources to advance the kingdom of God. We firmly believe that the Church, if it's to function the way God intended, must be filled will individuals and families who generously invest back what God has so graciously given them. And this goes much deeper than simply a financial deposit.
John Ortberg, in his book It All Goes Back in the Box, tells a story of playing Monopoly with his grandma as a young boy. After many years and numerous loses, he is finally able to defeat his grandma. He recalls never forgetting the words that came out of her mouth and how those words changed everything. She plainly stated, "Now it all goes back in the box." That is a lesson many of us struggle with in this life. We work so hard to amass wealth, invest in our jobs, essentially build, build, and build hoping to be seen as successful. However, when we die, that success if not invested properly goes back into the box.
As a church and individuals we need to be looking for ways of investing in the Kingdom. We want to encourage you to look for opportunities to live generously in and outside of the church.
