Jeanne Profile Pic 2

I grew up in the Philippines and came to the States when I was 18, so if I seem kind of clueless sometimes about American trivia, it's because I am.  I married Paul (my street-smart guy who tries his best to keep my head out of the clouds) my senior year at Trinity International University (degree in Communications) in Chicago. We’ve been married 18 years with four children: good-girl Emily Morgan (12), live-slowly-but-surely Jackson Keith Christopher (9), do-everything-passionately Hayden Jay Rider (7), and our sweet- prophetess Savannah Isabella Jayda (2).

Here's some get to know me stuff.  I really enjoy people from other cultures and countries, religions, walks of life.  I am late often. I don't like repetative tasks, or cleaning or cooking. I like to dream up things.  I stay up really late at night and theoretically love to sleep in (if I didn't have four children).  I hope God lets me write a book someday. I desperately want to be close to God and to feel His presence and to do His work here and to live my life here in such a way that in the next life I get to live in a garden with books and music and people that I love and exploration and imagination and crowns to give back to God.

Favorite Sports Team:

  • I like to play sports, not watch them.

Favorite Dessert:

  • Hot brownies with vanilla ice-cream, home-made hot fudge and frozen rasberries.

What I enjoy doing in my free time:

  • Reading, journaling, thinking, learning and discussing about the way life is and why it is the way it is, playing volleyball, singing anywhere, planning fun things to do with the kids, and being outside, anywhere beautiful in nature—camping, the beach, a park with green grass.

Favorite vacation:

  • Paul and I took a 3-week trip to visit where I grew up in the Philippines.

Favorite Game:

  • Risk and Rook, and any sport that has a ball, strategy, winning, and people that I like.

Favorite Movies:

  • Ever After
  • Water (a Bollywood movie in subtitles that illustrates the plight of women and children in India).
  • The Matrix (only the first one)

Book Recommendations:

  • Please Understand Me by Keirsey-Bates (Myers Briggs). My "Bible" on how to relate to people. I love this stuff.
  • The Unshakeable Kingdom and the Unchanging King by E. Stanley Jones.
  • The Insider: Bringing the Kingdom of God into your Everyday Life by Mike Shamy and Jim Peterson

Pet Peeve:

  • Cupboard doors that are half open and blinds that are closed in the day or open at night.

Favorite Quotations:

  • "Keep your words sweet, you may have to eat them."
  • "May the Lord fill you with peace and make you glad with the joy of His presence." from the book of Psalms by David the prophet.

Life Verse:

  • "If you remain in me, and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish in my name, and I will give it to you. And this is to God's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples." from the book of John by Jesus the Messiah
