Life with Purpose: In the Community

We believe that true, long-term transformation of neighborhoods and the community comes from the people that live in it.

If we can teach people live like Jesus in their real lives, every day, intentionally serving thier neighbors and co-workers, speaking truth into people's situations, building true friendships, studying God's word together, we can bring more people to live in the Kingdom of God.

Our path to learning how to do this looks like this:

Live Different

Each week, LifeGroups have a challenge to do during the week that intentionally gets them practicing "the little things".  Mother Teresa was famous for promoting the concept of "little initatives".  So we buy coffee for the person in line behind us, or ask a stranger how we can pray for them today, or prayer-walk through our neighborhood, or read the book of Mark in one sitting, or write someone a letter to reconcile.  Click on Live Different above to see more.

Life Group Service Projects

Each LifeGroup raises up someone in their group that organizes one-time service projects for their group to do together periodically.  One LifeGroup collected 400 pounds of food for Neighborhood Ministries pantry.  Another took turns visiting a common neibor in the hospital.  All groups help do a Movie Night in a neighborhood close to them.

Queen Creek Community Events

We partner with the Town of Queen Creek to do fun events at thier quarterly community events.  We supply willing volunteers wearing Live Different shirts to connect with people.  In April, we help run the Family Fun Run at the Spring Family Celebration.  In July, it's mud volleyball at Monsoon Madness.  In October, we do carnival booths and bring our ice-cream truck for Trunk or Treat.  In December, our band does a Christmas Singalong at the Hometown Christmas.

201 Class

We're developing this class so it's not ready yet.  It will be an individualized class where people can assess how they're doing at the spiritual disciplines, like Bible study, prayer, fasting, solitude, worship in order to be connected to God everyday.  Then we'll do a spiritual gifts inventory where you can see where God has given you special giftings.  Third, we want to teach and train you to have an outreach mindset, so we'll map out your relationships, your priorities, your schedule, and you can come away with a plan to make your life even more kingdom-minded.

Be an "Insider"

We'll provide mentoring for those who are especially connected and invested in relationships outside of the church.  Often, you're involved with friends who are asking deep spiritual questions, or you will come alongside those struggling with addictions or marriage issues or financial crisis.  Only by submitting themselves fully to the King of the Kingdom will any true transformation take place.  We will learn together how to help our friends wholistically -- spiritually, relationally, physically and emotionally.
